Editor’s Note:
The main purpose of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs’ Cohesion Fund is to achieve the integration of LEADER and Partnership groups (including Community Partnerships) by the end of 2006 so that local development programmes (LDSIPs) and rural development programmes such as LEADER and the Rural Social Scheme are delivered by one body in each area. As far as is practicable, the new bodies will also align their boundaries with city and county boundaries. In addition, the LDSIP programme is to be extended to cover the whole State by 01/01/07.
