Ciste na Gaeilge is financed from proceeds of the National Lottery. It is a fund from which Irish language organisations such as Bord na Leabhar Gaeilge, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe as well as various Irish initiatives such as Gael-Taca, Gaillimh le Gaeilge and Tiobraid Árann ag Labhairt are grant-aided following annual assessment of applications from the organisations.
