Description of functions of Corporate Support Services of Department of CRGA
The Department's Corporate Support Services are provided by 4 Divisions that together provide the logistical support and advice, which enables the operational Divisions of the Department to function in an efficient and co-ordinated manner. The Press and Information Office (Oifig Eolais) also provides a centralised contact point for members of the public and press seeking information on the Department's activities. The specific roles of each the Department's 4 corporate support divisions are summarised below.
The Corporate Governance Division promotes the development of the Department's strategic management capability. It supports change management throughout the Department and co-ordinates the cross-divisonal aspects of the Department's work.
The IT Division provides and maintains the IT platform for the Department's activities.
The Personnel Division supports the Department's overall strategy through the effective management of its human resources.
The Finance Division operates and maintains the financial and accounting systems necessary for the Department's operations. Internal Audit Unit provides a systems based internal audit service within the Department.
These Divisions are also responsible for the development and implementation of the Department's response to the process of public sector modernisation under the Strategic Management Initiative (SMI) and the Social Partnership Agreement Sustaining Progress.
